The first volume of “Mezrab: pieces for Qanun” collection has been published.
According to MUSIQI MA news-analytical site, the first volume of the collection “Mezrab: pieces for Qanun” collection composed and played by Parichehr Khajeh was published by Mahour Publications.
The topics and contents of the book, which have been prepared and compiled for upper secondary students (students who have learned the basic skills of playing well), do not have much adaptation to the instrumental radif workshop, and what is more intended is just to use the right rules and raise playing technique level.
Parichehr Khajeh about this book wrote: “playing any instrument correctly and fluently, in addition to continuous practice, requires knowledge of the techniques of playing that instrument, and paying attention to the details seems necessary and inevitable. There has long been a lack of reference and books to meet the needs of Qanun musicians and students. The present book, which is the result of the author’s years of uninterrupted and continuous effort and research, and all its content is invented and made by my mind and experiences in this matter, is an answer to this need. For this purpose, among those I have composed over the years in order to develop and strengthen the playing ability of Qanun students, I have selected thirty pieces and in order to better remember these pieces, I have named them according to their sensory states and provided a collection i.e. the book”.
Parichehr Khajeh is a faculty member of Tehran University of Arts and Qanun lecturer. “Song: Forty Pieces for Qanun”, “Remembrance 1: Thirty Pieces for Qanun by Iranian Music Masters”, “Remembrance 2: Thirty Pieces for Qanun by Iranian Music Masters” and “Golnoosh: Forty Pieces for Qanun ” are her other books. The book “Golnoosh” is basically a collection of pieces in memory of Simin Agharazi, the late Iranian musician and one of Qanun prominent musicians.
